Website Design Process

We will start off with a conversation to go over what you do, your business goals, your ideal client/customer profile, and your vision for your new website. You’ll then complete an intake form so I can gather additional details and draft a formal proposal. With payment of the deposit and a signed contract, we’re ready to get started!

Here we will discuss strategy and plan out your desired website structure, key features, important keywords, brand colors/fonts, and imagery requirements. This is also when you’ll begin providing me with assets such as photos, logo files, and information you want to include.

I’ll begin creating a theme concept and initial homepage layout, implementing your desired colors, fonts, first-draft copy, and placeholder images. You will be able to make requests and approve the theme and visual direction before going further. A progress payment of 25% will be due to move forward.

Using the approved theme and visual assets in hand, I’ll complete the remaining pages and integrate all key elements, including the navigation menu, text copy, SEO, links, buttons, images, and the contact form. I’ll structure headings and paragraphs to ensure proper search engine indexing. Elements and fonts will be sized for an ideal visual experience on popular screen sizes. A responsive mobile layout will be developed alongside the desktop site.

After I test the design and functionality on various devices and browsers, I will send you a private site preview link. This is your opportunity to review everything and send over your final requests for revisions.

Almost there! Once all the tweaks are made and you approve the final design, I will invoice you for the final 50% payment.

After final payment, I will officially transfer ownership of your new website to your Squarespace account and assist you with connecting your domain. Once you publish your site, it’s live! You’ll even receive a PDF guide designed to help you make basic updates to your new site with confidence.
